Server rules
By joining Summit Valley you agree to follow these rules in game, in voice and in the Summit Valley Discord. Not knowing a rule is not an excuse, so read them all. Staff have the final say, and the rules can change at any time.
Be respectfulTreat every player and staff member with respect.
Stay in characterKeep your roleplay believable at all times.
Value your lifeAct as your character would when in danger.
Play fairGive others a real chance to roleplay.
🤝 General conduct
1
Respect everyone. No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, threats or targeted abuse, in game or in the Discord.
2
Keep it fun. Do not ruin other people’s roleplay out of spite, and do not troll.
3
No cheating. Mod menus, injectors, macros, exploits and bug abuse are not allowed. If you find a bug, report it instead of using it.
4
Stay in the Discord. You must be a member of the Summit Valley Discord to play. Follow its rules too.
5
One account per person. Do not share accounts, and do not evade a ban with another account.
6
No advertising. Do not promote other servers, communities or services.
7
No real-money trading. Do not buy, sell or trade in-game items, money or characters for real money.
8
Follow staff. Do what staff ask in the moment. If you disagree, make a ticket afterwards instead of arguing in game.
9
Keep real life out. Do not bring real-world drama, politics or personal conflicts into roleplay.
🎭 Roleplay standards
1
Stay in character. Speak and act as your character at all times. Keep out-of-character talk to a minimum and use the proper out-of-character channels when you need it.
2
Value your life (fear RP). Act as your character would when their life is in danger. If someone points a weapon at you, you comply. Do not take unrealistic risks.
3
No Fail RP. Do not act in ways your character realistically could not, such as ignoring serious injuries, surviving impossible falls or driving as if there are no consequences.
4
No powergaming. Do not force an outcome on another player without giving them a chance to respond.
5
No metagaming. Do not use information from outside the roleplay (Discord, streams, other characters) in character.
6
No RDM or VDM. Do not kill, injure or run over people without a valid roleplay reason and proper roleplay beforehand.
7
New life rule. When your character is downed and respawns at the hospital, they forget the events that led to it. You cannot return to the scene, seek revenge or tell others what happened.
8
No combat logging. Do not disconnect or crash out to avoid roleplay, arrest or death. If you must leave, tell the people you are with first.
9
Realistic characters. Use a believable first and last name. No celebrity, offensive or joke names.
10
Extreme content is not allowed. No sexual assault roleplay or other extreme or graphic content.
11
Respect the scene. Let other people finish their scene. Do not drop into someone else’s roleplay just to disrupt it.
🚗 Driving and vehicles
1
Drive realistically. No ramming for fun, driving on pavements, or stunt driving in town.
2
No VDM. Hitting people with a vehicle needs a roleplay reason.
3
Do not abuse vehicles. No using vehicles as weapons, shields or to block mission points.
4
Park properly. Do not leave vehicles in roads, job locations or other people’s way.
5
Respect emergency vehicles. Pull over for lights and sirens, and do not block responders.
💼 Jobs and the economy
1
Do the job properly. Do not exploit, duplicate, or find ways around how a job is meant to work. Report problems to staff.
2
No AFK farming. Be present and doing the work while on a job.
3
Do not block or grief job locations. Leave job NPCs, vehicles and pickup points clear for other players.
4
Share co-op fairly. When you work with others, play fair and do your part.
5
On duty means in character. If you hold a service or business job, represent it properly and do not use your position or equipment for personal gain.
6
Do not abuse the economy. No duplicating items or money, and no abusing glitches. If you receive something you should not have, report it.
🚨 Crime and police interaction
1
Roleplay first. Start criminal activity with roleplay and give people a fair chance to react before violence.
2
Respect hostages. Hostages are people, not objects. Treat them realistically and let them roleplay.
3
Give police a fair chance. Do not make it impossible for police to respond to a crime you started.
4
Do not bait the police. Do not provoke officers purely to start a chase or a shootout.
5
If you are cuffed, stay cuffed. Do not use glitches or tricks to break restraints or escape the scene, and let arrests play out.
6
Do not attack medics or firefighters. People treating the injured are not a target while they are working.
7
Police must follow the penal code. Officers need a roleplay reason to stop, search or arrest someone, must use the MDT correctly, and must not abuse their position. See the penal code.
8
Everyone follows the scene. After a robbery, pursuit or arrest, play out the consequences instead of skipping them.
🎙️ Voice and chat
1
Use in-game voice for roleplay. Keep your microphone clear of background noise, music and soundboards.
2
No mic spam or voice changers that disrupt other players.
3
Keep chat clean. No spam, slurs or advertising in any chat channel.
4
Respect privacy. Do not share other players’ personal information or private messages.
⚖️ Reporting and enforcement
1
Report problems in the Discord. Open a ticket in the Summit Valley Discord and include clips or screenshots as evidence. Do not argue it out in game.
2
Be honest. False reports and lying to staff will be treated as a rule break.
3
Staff decide punishments. Depending on the rule and the situation, this can be a warning, a kick, a temporary ban or a permanent ban.
4
Serious breaks can mean an immediate ban. Cheating, harassment, threats and extreme content are not given a warning first.
5
Appeals. If you believe a punishment was wrong, appeal through the Discord. Do not make a new account to get around a ban.
6
Rules can change. Staff may update the rules and judge situations that are not written here. Play in the spirit of the rules.
Not sure about something?Ask in the Summit Valley Discord before you act. Staff would rather answer a question than handle a report.
